I don't support academic philosophy in universities anymore that I support academic textile design in your average university- and the latter is certainly of more value to most men.

Libraries are still open, and the internet still works. There shouldn't be such thing as a philosophy major, nothing is more shameful. I've always managed to exchange my ideas freely without a university, and I notice philosophy predates universities..... economies predate them as well, as well as society.

Honestly- look in your libraries philosophy shelfs- how many 'new' philosophy books are up there? Not many, the newest tend to be canon, decades old. Sure plenty of work it being done, but it's not reaching the real philosophers, or the movers and shakers of society- it ends up in the decaying minds of philosophy majors who think all they got to do is recite the ideas of others in conversation and add a tad to be considered one. It's a rotten system, it already died a few decades back- just let it go.
